COMPANY
batra GmbH was founded more than 50 years ago by Richard Balmer. At the beginning, transparent papers were printed with millimetre-grids. A book-binding facility was also on site.
It was not until the mid-fifties that the company became specialised in the printing of diagram papers for measuring and control technology in industry.
Contact to important recorder manufacturers was made, e.g. Siemens, resulting in constant growth of the company.
After the death of the company founder in the mid-eighties, his widow continued to run the company for several years until it was taken over by the Schleicher & Schuell company.
The parent company, also engaged in business in the same sector at that time, relocated part of the production to Traben-Trarbach, thereby contributing to the successful development of batra.
In 1996, DIA-Nielsen in Düren joined the company group.
Being the leader on the European market for accessories and consumables for measuring and control technology, e.g. for pens and print heads, DIA-Nielsen’s product range ideally complements batra’s range of diagram papers.
For some years now, both companies have been consolidated as DIA-Nielsen Microtech GmbH.
This is a definite advantage to the customer. Together, batra and DIA-Nielsen form Germany’s only single source of papers and consumables. The strong group also has a team of highly-qualified representatives who take excellent care of the customers.
In 2004 batra took over the client database of Messrs. Endlosdruck and Diaprint after they terminated their business.
Today, these specialised papers are dispatched to all corners of the globe. For example, a meteorologist in Saudi Arabia records sunshine hours with batra recording charts. In Canada, the quality assurance department of a tyre manufacturer monitors the tyre production. And locally, a sewage treatment plant determines the pH-value of the wastewater.
batra chart papers are in use everywhere recorded data is stored on paper.
Quality, flexibility and concentration on the essentials has made us market leader in Germany.
